Graphics chip vendor Nvidia reported will introduce a line of processors designed for small, portable computers, in Computex exhibition in Taipei next week.
In the Inquirer report sheds light on a product called Tegra, that Nvidia plans to unveil this week. While Tegra name is known for some time, Nvidia has kept the details of the product under wraps.
According to the report, Tegra will include two products for Tegra APX 2500 and CSK 600/650, which are based on one processor core Arm11 and will compete in this space against Intel Centrino chip package of Atom, announced in April.
In Tegra products will be placed on the same graphical capabilities of current Nvidia GeForce staff, said the report.
In 2500 APX the information is intended for portable computers, while CSK chips will be used in larger funds. Devices based on the chip will run Windows CE, instead of Windows XP, as Arm processor cores are not in support of the latest operating system.
Nvidia is also expected to unveil a cheaper product in computer Computex, in conjunction with Via Technologies. Nvidia will make a chip, which maintains a set of the forthcoming Isaiah Via processor and offer better graphics capabilities than previously available to the Via processor line.

Due to the phenomenal growth of the Internet, which basically abolished distance, increased accessibility to information and gave instant communications a huge boost, working from home is no longer a fantasy, but rather a solid, modern-day reality. Millions of people around the world do it and it’s working out just well for them - however, many of those who have traditional desk jobs and contemplate working from home still feel somewhat reluctant to the idea of moving their desk from a fancy sky scraper downtown into the room next to your kids’ bedroom. Noise, regular distractions and a million other small things may appear as insurmountable obstacles to an adult who contemplates such a move. However, as with most things in life, working from home is simply a matter of organization.
The first essential step in creating a productive work environment at home is to have your own office. No, this does not mean that you have to start adding extra rooms to your house - it just means that you have to choose a place that’s going to serve as your “office space”, and which must be closed off from the rest of the house. Whether it’s a small, separate room or simply your guest bedroom where you set up your computer and all the materials you need to do your job properly, make sure your family members know this is your own space, and you don’t want any interruptions. To drive the point home, always step out of the “office” if you want to chat with anyone, making it clear that chats in the office room are off limits.
The next step is to learn to say “no” to any distractions or frequent interruptions - unless of course it’s an emergency. Even if it’s just a fifteen minute run to the supermarket down the street for bread and milk, it’s still a distraction, it makes lose focus and waste time getting back into the work mindset upon your return. It’s easy for your other family members to imagine that if you are at home, this means you’re also available to run errands and help around the house. However, don’t fall into the other extreme and don’t shut yourself away from the outside world for days at a time. Working from home allows you to share meals with your family and if you keep to a regular working schedule, you’ll be able to fit in everything you need to do in one day - and then some. Good luck.

Following the releases of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, Microsoft has moved onward to the next iterations of both its client and server operating systems. And just as Windows 7 is the successor of Vista, so Windows 7 Server is designed to be the next version of Windows Server, and to replace Windows Server 2008. The Redmond company is completely mute on Windows 7 but it did manage to point to 2010 for a potential general availability date, talk about the MinWin core. Not the same is valid about Windows 7 Server. Details on the next generation Windows Server platform are even scarcer than those for Windows 7, but the operating system is already dog-fooded over at Microsoft.
On June 4h and 5, 2008, in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft is hosting the Windows Rally Technologies, an event where the company will demonstrate, among others, Windows 7 Server. The Windows Rally Partner Summit held in Building 20, Microsoft Main Campus, according to the official schedule which can be downloaded straight from Microsoft (via UX Evangelist). Microsoft failed to provide a great deal of details, and the participants are unlikely to share anything on the Windows 7 Server demonstration since all the partners are under a strict non-disclosure agreement. However, the main demo will focus on the Business Scanning feature of Windows 7 Server. However, one thing is clear at this point in time, along with Windows 7, Microsoft is also dog-fooding Windows 7 Server, while also serving the operating system to its closest partners.
“This session will introduce participants to the Business Scanning feature which is planned for Windows 7 Server. An overview of the technology will be presented, including the required protocols, Active Directory, Security and Windows Server Manager integration. The scanning functional model, theory of operation and the usage scenarios will be discussed. A development requirements overview will be presented to IHVs to show how MFPs can interact with Business Scanning,” Microsoft revealed.
Due to scheduled maintenance, paypal service will be down aprox one hour
As announced on the official website, Paypal will be down for approx one hour. PayPal, one of the most popular websites on the Internet and surely the most used service for online payments and money transfers, has announced that the service would be unavailable on May 29 for approximately one hour due to scheduled maintenance. Jim McGuire, vice president of network operations at PayPal, said the website would become inaccessible on Thursday, May 29, at 11pm PDT (Friday, May 30, at 6:00 am GMT) for one hour during which most of the PayPal payment functions will be unavailable. However, Payflow Gateway customers will not be affected by the maintenance, McGuire explains.
Besides the unavailability of the PayPal website, payments processed by PayPal on the popular eBay bidding website will also be unavailable. Moreover, users won’t be able to log into their PayPal accounts to verify payments. Obviously, those made through PayPal or other merchants will also be suspended for one hour.
“PayPal continually makes improvements to our systems and platforms so that we can continue to provide you with the best online payment processing solution. Rest assured, we will be monitoring the scheduled maintenance very closely to ensure that we return to normal functionality as soon as possible,” Jim McGuire explains.
As mentioned, PayPal is one of the most popular services on the Internet and, for many users, it represents the main solution when it comes to online payments and money transfers. PayPal was acquired by eBay in October 2002, when the company paid $1.5 billion. Since the acquisition, PayPal has grown up a lot and currently exists in several countries around the world.
According to Wikipedia, PayPal hosts more than 164 million accounts and supports no less than 19 currencies worldwide. Moreover, people from 190 countries could take advantage of the PayPal features, more countries being expected soon as part of the PayPal evolution
Its look like that IBM is not the one play in Blade server technology, the leading hardware industry such HP, DELL and SUN also take a part of it. Blade server claims as a green data center storage.
Virtualization is also the top news and now more possible to do it in blade technology.
Server virtualisation is rapidly gaining market acceptance for server provisioning. The introduction of virtual HBA technology will allow users to combine and leverage virtual servers and storage networks into flexible, secure and reliable solutions. The early generations of blades offered little synergy with virtualisation, but the convergence of blades and virtualisation is accelerating due to various factors outlined in this whitepaper.
“If the blades are completely diskless, that means they are booting via Preboot Execution Environment (PXE). This is probably the area where the concern lies due to the http-like nature of PXE. This environment, at least today, does not provide a way for detecting and disallowing unknown servers from performing remote installations. Because of this, one would follow the same best practices to secure the PXE as they would to secure their overall network such as:
* Physical security
* Firewalls
* Auditing and monitoring for intrusions
* Strong password protocols/procedures”
No more security issue in server, Blade server security is not unlike rack or standalone server security, but here you’ll find a few ways to ensure a secure blade server environment. As we know, data storage the first target for hackers, with blade server your network admin can take a rest any time they want.
