Following the releases of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, Microsoft has moved onward to the next iterations of both its client and server operating systems. And just as Windows 7 is the successor of Vista, so Windows 7 Server is designed to be the next version of Windows Server, and to replace Windows Server 2008. The Redmond company is completely mute on Windows 7 but it did manage to point to 2010 for a potential general availability date, talk about the MinWin core. Not the same is valid about Windows 7 Server. Details on the next generation Windows Server platform are even scarcer than those for Windows 7, but the operating system is already dog-fooded over at Microsoft.
On June 4h and 5, 2008, in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft is hosting the Windows Rally Technologies, an event where the company will demonstrate, among others, Windows 7 Server. The Windows Rally Partner Summit held in Building 20, Microsoft Main Campus, according to the official schedule which can be downloaded straight from Microsoft (via UX Evangelist). Microsoft failed to provide a great deal of details, and the participants are unlikely to share anything on the Windows 7 Server demonstration since all the partners are under a strict non-disclosure agreement. However, the main demo will focus on the Business Scanning feature of Windows 7 Server. However, one thing is clear at this point in time, along with Windows 7, Microsoft is also dog-fooding Windows 7 Server, while also serving the operating system to its closest partners.
“This session will introduce participants to the Business Scanning feature which is planned for Windows 7 Server. An overview of the technology will be presented, including the required protocols, Active Directory, Security and Windows Server Manager integration. The scanning functional model, theory of operation and the usage scenarios will be discussed. A development requirements overview will be presented to IHVs to show how MFPs can interact with Business Scanning,” Microsoft revealed.

Firefox is the most browsers that people use today, the only competitor for IE. The release of 3.0 betas is the fastest mozila firefox ever.
As claimed by The Mozilla dev team, to have squeezed more performance out of Firefox 3.0. The betas were fast, so has the team been able to get more out of their code?
Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 is available in more than 45 languages as a public preview release intended for developer testing and community feedback. It includes new features as well as dramatic improvements to performance, memory usage and speed.
So, how does Firefox 3.0 RC 1 compare? This latest run of tests was run on the same hardware and software platform as previous tests (to make sure nothing had changed we re-ran some of the browsers to check that we got the same results). Also added to the listing were Opera 9.27 and Opera 9.50 Beta 2.
Download firefox 3.0rc1 now!
What’s really amazing (and a little hard to take in) is that Firefox 3.0 is now nearly ten times faster at processing the SunSpider benchmark than IE7 is.

As you can see the difference between Firefox 3.0 RC1 and Firefox 3.0 Beta 5 is only a few milliseconds, but over repeated runs the lead it held over the other browsers remained consistent.
A brand new photography called ShutterSpeed, show for photo enthusiasts. This is the first episode, and this is the beginning.

Microsoft’s ShutterSpeed is a show focused on digital imaging and photography offered through Channel 10. An initiative aimed mainly at enthusiast and hobbyist photographers, ShutterSpeed will deal with a variety of aspects from basic photographic principles to the equipment needed and even to storage, sharing and editing solutions. In the end, photographers watching the show will be able to improve their knowledge of digital photography, as well as their skills and ultimately see result in the images they will capture.
“ShutterSpeed is a brand new photography show for photo enthusiasts. In this first episode, Nic Fillingham (host) teams up with a panel of company photography experts: Tim Grey, Bill Crow, and myself,” revealed Michael Palermiti, Program Manager on the Digital Memories Experience Team. “We got together in Channel 10’s studio to discuss online video storage and photo editing tools. We also get back to basics and talk about the principles of photography and what to look for in a digital camera. The final segment of the premiere show Nic visits the Seattle studio of Phil Borges, a Microsoft Icon of Imaging.”
The initial episode of ShutterSpeed deals mainly with online storage services and photo editing solutions available from various companies. In this regard, the show promises not to focus exclusively on Microsoft, but instead offer a complete perspective of the options accessible to digital photographers. However, the first episode does feature an all Microsoft cast, with the exception of professional photographer Phil Borges.
Tim Grey is the Senior Product Manager on the Rich Media Group and, in the video, he is joined by Bill Crow the Group Manager on the Microsoft Live Labs Team and Michael Palermiti. Before moving to Microsoft Live Labs, Bill Crow was the head of the HD Photo project, which evolved into the JPEG XR and was submitted to becoming an ISO standard.
Through an array of products from the Windows operating system to the Windows Live Photo Gallery, Microsoft plays an important role in terms of how photographers manage digital images. Although offering solutions that are generally regarded as inferior to what the heavyweights of the digital photography market have to offer, the Redmond company is in no way satisfied with its position and is in fact working to increase its relevance to a new level via the introduction of JPEG XR, developed under the label HD Photo, and designed as a format that will replace the now traditional and some may argue obsolete JPEG standard.
Hewlett-Packard has a set of USB sticks for ProLiant servers by many models, but the USB contents malicious software which allow an attacker could be supported on an infected system.
The worms contained on the 256KB and 1GB USB drives have been identified as W32.Fakerecy and W32.SillyFDC. The worms spread by copying themselves to removable or mapped drives and affect systems running Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows NT and Windows 2000, according to AusCERT.
HP Software Security Response Team AusCERT issued a warning this week, after it was discovered on USB sticks, and also a list of servers, for security response organization.
To determine whether a disk is infected, HP recommends the inclusion in a system with an upgrade of the anti-virus software. The systems with an update of the anti-virus must be protected from the threat, according to HP.

A blade server is a server with several apartments’ slim chassis, modular, electronic circuits, known as the blade server. Blade servers are to allow more energy treatment in less than rack, which simplifies the wiring and to reduce energy consumption. SearchWinSystems.com According to an article on the server technology, the company on the blade servers can offer so much experience that 85% discount on the wiring for the blade in comparison to the facilities or 1U server round. With less than cabling, administrators can spend less time with the management of infrastructure and more time in order to achieve greater availability.
Blade servers are self-server computing, designed for IT-High-Density. Whereas a rack-mount server can do it with (at least) a power cord and network cable, blade servers have removed many elements for space, power and other considerations, taking into account all elements to be functional as a computer.
A blade server is often described as a high-density servers and is usually in a group of servers, which has become a unique task, such as: • File Sharing • use of the Web page and caching • SSL encryption for Web Communications • The transcoding content of the web page for the small screens • streaming audio and video Like most requests for reunification, the blade server, may also be to support the load balancing and failover capabilities. That is the reason why blade server
